Our Response to covid-19
Dear Parents, Volunteers, & Donors,
Covid-19 is impacting every area of life, and camp is no exception. Summer 2020 at Kenosee Lake Bible Camp will look different than any other summer in our 60 year history. However, we remain committed to our Vision: Show God's Love, Share God's Truth, Build God's Family.
We want to make clear that whatever happens, camp is not "closed". We will remain active in whatever methods possible, whether online, in-person as volunteers continue to complete projects, or hosting small groups as is possible and safe.
Our Board of Directors decided to cancel all in-person May and June events, including Missionary Training weekends, Volunteer Work Week, Field Trips, KLBC Golf Tournament, and our Open House. Note: We are still accepting help from volunteers who would like to come to camp and complete various cleaning and maintenance tasks. However, we ask any volunteers to contact us in advance so we can be prepared for you and ensure we don't exceed set limits on the number of people on-site at one time.
Announcements will be made about whether camps will run or not on the following dates:
June 15 - Announcement regarding Pre-Teen, Junior 1, and BOLD 1 camps
June 29 - Announcement regarding Junior 2, Day, and Overnight camps
July 20 - Announcement regarding Family Camp, Squirt, and Tween camps
August 3 - Announcement regarding Junior 3 and Teen camp
August 24 - Announcement regarding Youth Kickoff weekend
If we are only able to run camps for the final two weeks in August we will modify the ages of those camps. The first week will be for ages 7- 11. The second week will be for ages 12-17. More details will be announced on August 3rd. Due to financial constraints, we have cancelled all trips to the Kenosee Super Slides this summer.
Our Board has also adopted the following Refund Policy for summer 2020: All camper fees, including preregistration fees, will be 100% refundable until the registration day of the camp they are intended for. Parents can receive a refund at any time up until that date upon request. In the event a camp week is cancelled, parents will be given the option to move their registration to a later camp week, receive a full refund, or receive an income tax receipt for the full amount of the paid fees.
We continue to explore alternative options to reach our campers and their families this summer. Visit our Facebook and Instagram for more details as we get closer to summer.
Thank you for your support in this difficult and uncertain time. Any questions can be sent to email@example.com or call the camp office at 306-577-4623.
If you are interested and able to help support KLBC financially during this time (whether through donating paid camper fees or making an additional donation), we would be very grateful. We've already seen many examples of generosity from our donors in the last couple of months, and it is a real source of encouragement.
We look forward to showing God's love, sharing God's truth, and building God's family alongside you through this pandemic and for years to come.
One Hope canada Statement re. covid-19 - March 17, 2020
Due to the information quickly changing concerning COVID-19 protocols, we ask you to contact us directly for guidance in relation to any spring booking or summer programs. We are in close communication with public health authorities and will make adjustments as additional COVID-19 guidance is provided.
Because camp happens in close communities, we have always taken great care to develop and maintain disease management practices to address a variety of communicable diseases, both common and rare. We believe that prevention is one of the best lines of defense and regularly remind campers of the importance of good hygiene and sanitation practices.
As an extra precaution, our camps are installing additional hygiene stations and will undergo aggressive daily cleaning and disinfecting practices to minimize the spread of disease. We are updating these screening, cleaning and disinfection policies to mirror current best practices recommended by public health authorities.
In order to accommodate the concerns of families, we have updated our refund policy. A full refund will be issued to any camper who has tested positive for COVID-19 or has been exposed to others who have. In addition, if a week of camp has to be cancelled due to a directive of the local health, a full refund will be issued.
Families of registered campers will be updated of any changes or new information. In the meantime, if you have additional questions or concerns, please feel free to call us at (306) 577-4623..
